Sugar and Spice

My focus in this blog so far has been women's style, because, well, that's what I love and,  it's MY blog!  But this blog is also about highlighting consignment shopping in general and the particular boutique where I work specifically, so I have to feature children's clothing, too.  After all, Twice Blessed/Diva's was originally just Twice Blessed!  Owner Kristy Kowatch started her childrens' consignment shop in downtown Lake Orion over 10 years ago.  In the beginning, she sold layette items and baby clothing as well.  An opportunity to expand the business came about 4 years later, and she opened up an adjacent shop, Diva's, selling junior and womens' clothing.  Earlier this year, the two shops merged into one location, just a few doors down the block, and the boutique now sells consignment clothing for children, teens, and women, as well as designer shoes, purses, jewelry and accessories.

As with our selection of womens' clothing, our childrens' clothing is top notch.  Boys can shop Under Armour and Nike.  Girls can find Ivivva, Lilly Pulitzer and the focus of this week's blog, Matilda Jane.  Pictured above is only a partial representation of our current Matilda Jane stock.

Matilda Jane clothing company was started in 2005 by designer/owner Denise DeMarchis.  The clothing is sold through the direct selling (home show) approach.  The clothes are whimsical, colorful and capture what being a girl is all about.

Staying true to my blog, I had to have someone modeling the clothes!  This adorable someone, 3 year old Aria, was shopping in Twice Blessed/Diva's while I was planning this blog and agreed to this photo!  She does look happy and twirly in her Matilda Jane Clothes!

Matilda Jane also has a line of clothes for women and we do have several dresses and separates in the store currently.  I can't say that I feel particularly happy or twirly in this Matilda Jane outfit as this isn't my usual style, but I do think the pants would be good for yoga class!

In the ten years Twice Blessed has been in business, most of the original customers have outgrown the children's section of our store, but we still have an extensive selection of kids clothes, all in great condition at great prices! So if you shop Diva's and know someone with little Divas or young boys, be sure they know what a great resource we are for kids clothes too!
