Other hearts that are helped through this business are those of our consignors. First of all, it feels good to donate the clothing that ultimately helps people in your community! Second, when requested, the store can issue you a tax deduction slip for tax purposes for the clothing that is donated.
Finally, when a consignor's clothing is sold, 40% of the selling price goes into their store account. They can then request a cash payout, or they can keep the money on their account and use the funds for store credit when they buy more clothing at our store! It really does feel good to shop for yourself or your kids and never open your wallet at the checkout!
Today I am styling a 2-layer stretch lace dress that I bought at Twice Blessed/Diva's, of course! I paired it with a 10 year old jean jacket and a statement necklace, I think from Kohl's. My cork soled wedge sandals are awesome, and also from Diva's, but my feet have not yet had a pedicure, so I didn't get a close up of the shoes!
This turned out to be the perfect outfit for today because, first of all, it was the flower fair in downtown Lake Orion, so I felt festive with a floral themed necklace. Second, the sun was peeking in and out all day long, so I could adjust to the temperature changes taking my jacket on and off.
Third, jean jackets live! I cannot tell you how many cute outfits I saw this weekend with jean jacket toppers! My favorite look was a strapless black jumpsuit worn with a jean jacket vest. I also saw maxi skirts with tee shirts and jean jackets, super cute, and my very stylish co-worker wore leggings with a knit tunic and short jean jacket. So if you were thinking your jean jacket is tired and were going to weed it out of your closet this season, think again! In fact, maybe the answer is to trade it in for a new-to-you jacket at Diva's!
